17th century Italian hand-carved gilded angel mounted on green malachite with red quartz crystals and gilded fragments. The hand-carved angel was once part of a heavenly, angelic depiction in a historical church in Tuscany. The angel's green wings emulate the color of the green malachite. The malachite also sits on gilded fragment feet with green and red mineral specimens.

The Italian angel has been joined with the natural elements to create a figurative, sculptural work of old and new - creating a piece that appears to have evolved together over time. Interpreting the past to create a piece entirely original, evolving in its own right.
