18th century Italian gilded sunray mounted on a polished golden hematoid heart and adorned with hematite crystal points and a natural forming baroque pearl. The piece is inspired by "The Sacred Heart" in Catholic art history which symbolizes God's unconditional love for mankind. The sunray originally came from an heavenly depiction or halo motif from a historical church in Italy.
Together, the elements create a historically significant, figurative work of old and new.
