18th century Italian hand-carved gilded angel with fossil agate coral wings and mounted pinkish white aragonite. The hand-carved angel is holding a coordinating baroque pearl. It was once part of a heavenly, angelic depiction in a historical church in Tuscany.

The piece is adorned with the fossil agate coral which creates the wings for the angel  Fossil agate coral is Florida's state stone and is known for its unique formation that can take place over 20 million years. It's a natural gemstone that is created when prehistoric coral is gradually replaced with agate. The aragonite crystal cluster is from Mexico and has many different formations. This one in particular emulates a cloud which compliments the 18th century Italian gilded angel.

The Italian angel has been joined with the natural elements to create a sculptural work of old and new - creating a piece that appears to have evolved together over time. Interpreting the past to create a piece entirely original, evolving in its own right.
