18th century Italian sunray decorated with titanium tangerine crystal quartz points, natural forming baroque pearls, and fossil shells on an angel plated quartz. Angle plated quartz is an extremely rare form of quartz and is only found in the upstate region of South Carolina and southern North Carolina. The silica is precipitated into cracks which are then filled with microcrystalline quartz and the “plates” are often encrusted with druzy quartz.
