17th century Italian wood-painted figure of Christ (Provence of Lucca, Tuscany) on a coordinating smoky crystal quartz in matrix base.

In Easter celebrations of the Italian Catholic church, the figure of Christ is removed from the cross after Good Friday and laid on the stone on Saturday to then be removed on Sunday, representing the resurrection of Jesus. This piece was created by the artist of Interi as an interpretation of this tradition. The last photo represents Christ on the stone in the Church of Sanit Apostoli, in Florence. Built in the 11th century, it is one of the oldest building in the city.

The Italian crucifix is preserved and transformed into a figurative, contemporary work of art. Combined with the natural elements, it becomes a sculptural work of historic and organic significance.
