18th-century Italian candlestick top with polished agate coral & baroque pearl and sits on a polished agate base.
The 18th century candlestick top originally came from a candlestick from a church in Tuscany.
Agate coral is Florida's state stone and is known for its unique formation that can take place over 20 million years. It's a natural gemstone that is created when coral is gradually replaced with agate. These then go through a 48-hour polishing process to achieve the effect.
The Italian church candlestick top artifact, baroque pearl, and agate coral are put together in a miniature sculptural form - creating a piece that appears to have evolved together over time. Interpreting the past to create a piece entirely original, evolving in its own right.
