Gilded Church "Pompom" with Tassels - M341
18th century Italian hand-carved gilded distressed 'pompom' tassel. The Rococo 'pompom' tassel originally came from an Italian church in Tuscany and was used to decorate ecclesiastical lighting features and other objects of worship. This piece is very rare to come by and can't be found anywhere else. There are 7 matching tassels hanging from the carved wood hanging fixture and each tassel measures 6 inches.
The historically significant and rare gold leaf 'pompom' tassel can be used for many different design purposes. It can adorn and drip from a large ornate chandelier or can be a statement piece in its own right.
