18th century Italian cream and gilded tabernacle door adorned with quartz crystal points. This door once belonged on a tabernacle which served the eucharist in a church. It has a carved chalice signifying the communion with rays of light beaming from the center.
The crystals points look as though they have naturally grown and crystalized on the ecclesiastical artifact. They are applied to transform the piece into a contemporary work of historical significance.
