Sculptural 17th century Italian fragment adorned with purple and pink coral and shells and amethyst points and mounted on a rubellite and lepidolite base.

The Italian fragment originally came from a candlestick in a church in Italy. It is transformed with the minerals and mounted onto the rubellite and lepidolite base. Coordinating purple and pink coral shells adorn the broken aspects of the artifact to look as though the piece evolved together over time. The fragment has been collected and transformed by Jean O'Reilly Barlow, the artist and founder of Interi. This piece was once part of Interi's exclusive private collection.

The matrimony of the minerals and artifact creates a sculptural work of art. Each detail looks as though it had organically grown from the fragment artifact. This sculptural fragment also artistically articulate that there is beauty behind brokenness. The precious piece portrays that what is deemed as distressed and broken is not beyond restoration, but can be transformed into something much more beautiful than before.
