18th century Italian gilded base with a polished green lava glass point and adorned with green mother of pearl with gold highlights and mounted on an antique metal crown base.
The gilded base originally came from a historical church in Italy. The polished green lava glass is created when magma is rapidly cooled and it creates a unique sculpture with natural forming indentions. The point was cut and polished to completion, but parts of the glass are left in their organic form to resemble a natural-forming sculpture combined with the hand of man.
Together, the elements create a historic yet modern, sculptural work of art.
