A pair of 18th-century Italian wood scroll fragments edged in gold leaf with gold leaf detailing and applied coordinating agate coral and fossil shells. The hand-carved gold leaf scrolls have natural forming gold baroque pearls and sit on a solid cut rock coral base.
The Italian artifacts, shell, and baroque pearls are joined together creating a pair of organic and contemporary sculptural pieces.
