18th century Italian hand-carved gold leaf angel with fossil agate coral wings and mounted aragonite. The hand-carved angel was once part of a heavenly, angelic depiction in a historic church in Tuscany.

Fossil agate coral is Florida's state stone and is known for its unique formation that can take place over 20 million years. It's a natural gemstone that is created when prehistoric coral is gradually replaced with agate. The aragonite is from Morocco and has many different formations. This one in particular emulates a cloud which is compliments the 18th century Italian gilded angel.
The Italian angel has been joined with the natural elements to create a sculptural work of old and new - creating a piece that appears to have evolved together over time. Interpreting the past to create a piece entirely original, evolving in its own right.
