18th century Italian hand-carved silver leaf angel with silver leaf shells, mica wings, and mounted on a mica cluster. The hand-carved angel was once part of a heavenly, angelic depiction in a historic church in Italy. The wings were broken off due to age and distress and have been replaced with coordinating mica. The angel appears to be holding the silver leaf shells.
The Italian angel has been joined with the natural elements to create a sculptural work of organic and old. Together, the pieces create a contemporary yet historically significant work of art.
