18th century Italian angel wing with natural-forming baroque pearls on mookaite.
The Italian angel wing was once used as part of a decorative motif in angelic depictions in historic Italian churches. It is hand-carved and hand-painted with mecca gold paint. It is mounted on the organic mookaite mineral base and adorned with the natural-forming baroque pearls to emulate the feather-like carvings of the wing.
The piece has been combined with the elements to create a historically significant yet contemporary work of old and new.
