17th century Italian candlestick with aquamarine. The candlestick is from originally from a church in Florence. It hand-carved and hand-painted with hints of pale greenish-hues showing through. The aquamarine in matrix is mounted on top and perfectly coordinates with the candlestick. A shell is placed near the base and an aquamarine point replaces a missing third leg of the artifact.
The elements are put together in a sculptural form - creating a piece that appears to have evolved together over time. Interpreting the past to create a piece entirely original, evolving in its own right.
