17th century Italian fragment with natural ammonites, prehistoric shells, agatized coral, and polished coral branches on a burlap gallery 1-inch canvas.
The 17th century fragment originally came from a church in Tuscany. The Italian ecclesiastical artifact, ammonites, prehistoric shells, and corals are mounted onto the canvas and put together to create a 3D sculptural wall piece.
The piece is put together by Jean O'Reilly Barlow, the artist and creative director of Interi. The date of manufacture reflects when she created the piece and the period shows the age of the natural elements. The piece is appears to have evolved together over time - Interpreting the past to create historical yet contemporary work, entirely original, evolving in its own right.
