18th century Italian fragment with baroque pearls and tangerine quartz points on a hand-painted gallery 1-inch canvas. The canvas is distressed with gold leaf and metallic red powders used by restorers in Italy in the 18th and 19th century. They are no longer available. The powders coordinate with the natural-forming baroque pearls and tangerine quartz points. The 18th century fragment is originally from Tuscany.
The Italian artifact and minerals are mounted onto the metallic red powdered canvas and put together to create a 3D sculptural wall piece. The piece appears to have evolved together over time - Interpreting the past to create historical yet contemporary work entirely original, evolving in its own right.
