Polished Obsidian point with natural forming indentions. This point was not cut and polished to completion, but parts of it are left in its organic form to resemble a natural forming sculpture combined with the hand of man.
Similar to the obsidian historically used by indigenous groups throughout Mexico and Mesoamerica for decorative, spiritual, and practical purposes.
Obsidian is a naturally occurring volcanic glass formed when lava extruded from a volcano cools rapidly with minimal crystal growth. It is an igneous rock. Obsidian is produced from felsic lava, rich in the lighter elements such as silicon, oxygen, aluminum, sodium, and potassium.
