Late 17th century Italian gold leaf angel wing with a coordinating baroque pearl and unique fossilized aragonite.
The hand-carved angel wing was once part of a heavenly, angelic depiction in a historic church in Italy and has been naturally distressed with age. The shape of the wing creates the illusion of movement as if the wing is frozen in mid-flight, breaking through the cloud of aragonite. This mineral is originally from Morocco. Its unique form emulates a cloud to compliment the symbolic angel wing.
Together, the angel wing and natural elements create an organic and historic work of art.
