18th century Italian hand-carved angel wing mounted on a chalcopyrite and adorned with kyanite. The hand-carved angel wing was once part of a heavenly, angelic depiction in a historic church in Tuscany. The paint and gilding is original and the chalcopyrite and kyanite compliment the multicolor angel wing. Together, the elements look as though the piece evolved together over time.
The Italian angel wing has been put together with the minerals to create a sculptural work of old and new - creating a figurative and historically significant work of art.
