18th century Italian "Young John the Baptist" painting framed with purple and yellow fluorite. The painting original came from Tuscany and depicts him as a young man with a lamb. This is a famous depiction of Saint John the Baptist. His portrait with a lamb symbolizes his recognition of Jesus as the Son of God. In the Bible when John baptized Jesus in the River Jordan he says, "Behold, the Lamb of God" (John 1: 36).
The original frame is adorned and framed with purple and yellow fluorite and gold powders that were used by artists to decorate and paint objects in the church. The minerals compliment the colors of the painting.
Together, the mineralized painting creates a historic and organic work of art.
