Pyrite mirror created from cubed pyrite and pyrite clusters with an original antique 19th century beveled mirror.

Pyrite's metallic and pale silver-yellow hue give it a superficial resemblance to gold, hence the well-known nickname of fool's gold. It also naturally forms into many different shapes with the cubic form being the most unique and popular. Historically, the Romans used pyrite in a variety of artistic ways, such as using pyrite cubes and slivers as tiles in complex mosaics.
