18th century Italian gilded and hand-painted processional finial with baroque pearls and mounted on malachite. The piece was originally part of a processional pole from a historical church in Italy. A eucharist is painted on one side and Mary is painted on the other side. The malachite and baroque pearls bring out the colors of the piece. Together the artifact and the natural elements create a historical yet contemporary, sculptural work of art.
