19th century Italian black crucifix with a gold and pearlescent figure of Christ and Mary. It is adorned with baroque pearls and mounted on an agate slice. This figure of Christ is unique as it depicts Mary below Christ which is uncommon among historic crucifixes.
Together, the crucifix and natural elements create a figurative, sculptural work of art.
