A pair of 18th century Italian candlestick tops with polished agate coral.
The hand-carved, gold leaf candlestick tops originally came from a pair of candlesticks from a church in Tuscany. A coordinating pair of agate coral are mounted onto the candlestick tops.
Agate coral is Florida's state stone and is known for its unique formation that can take place over 20 million years. It's a natural gemstone that is created when coral is gradually replaced with agate. These then go through a 48-hour polishing process to achieve the effect.
The pair of Italian church candlestick top artifacts and agate coral are put together in a miniature sculptural form - creating a pair that appears to have evolved together over time.
