Pair of 18th century Italian fragments decorated with sculpted linen canvas flowers, fossil agate coral, and Venetian plaster roses.
One piece is all plaster background, while the other is a combination of traditional Italian fresco plaster, marble paste, and a selection of oils. Both are dusted with Italian green raw umber pigment and volcanic ash.
The pair was created by the artist Elena Rousseau for Interi. Elena Rousseau is a mixed media artist seeking to reinvent Baroque and Rococo art with artistic methods she learned through her studies in Florence, Italy and contemporary interpretations.
