18th century Italian hand-carved gold-leaf angel holding a torch with a herkimer faceted diamond surrounded by coordinating naturally formed baroque pearls. The Herkimer diamond rests in place of a candle which originally would have lit a great room or alter of a historic church in Italy.
Herkimer diamonds are from Herkimer, New York. These double-terminated quartz crystals are rare and are known for their diamond-like geometrical shape and clarity.
