18th century Italian hand-carved brown angel wing mounted on calcite crystals in sphalerite and adorned with citrine crystals. The hand-carved angel wing was once part of a heavenly, angelic depiction in a historic church in Tuscany. The paint is original and the citrine crystals adorn the part of the wing that was distressed from age. Together, the elements look as though the piece evolved together over time.
The Italian angel wing has been put together with the crystal specimens to create a sculptural work - creating a figurative and historically significant work of art.
