18th century Italian hand-carved and gilded tabernacle door adorned with baroque pearls. This door once belonged on a tabernacle which served the eucharist in a church. It has a heavenly depiction of hand-carved angels with clouds and a sunburst above a sacrificial lamb which represents Christ.
The baroque pearls emulate the pearlescent color of the clouds. They are applied to transform the piece into a contemporary work of historical and spiritual significance.
