Pair of 18th century Italian mecca bases with coordinating iridescent abalone shells.
Each shell contains a natural forming baroque pearl. The back of the bases are covered with 18th century, handwritten paper. Each piece also adorned with abalone shell pieces and the bases are mounted on a polished agate. The elements have been combined to create an organic sculptural work of historical significance.
