Pair of 18th century Italian scroll fragments with polished and natural ammonites and coordinating shells on 2 hand-painted gallery 1-inch canvases. The canvases are distressed with natural organic pigments.

The 18th century fragments originally came from a church in Tuscany. The ammonites emulate the scroll design of the fragment pieces. The Italian artifacts, ammonites, and shells are mounted onto the pigmented canvases and put together to create a pair of 3D sculptural wall pieces. The pair appears to have evolved together over time - Interpreting the past to create historical yet contemporary pieces entirely original, evolving in their own right.

Size: 20" high x 16" wide x 2" deep (each piece)
