17th century Italian arrow decorated with fossil agate coral with a polished agatized coral base. The arrow fragment is hand-carved and originally came from a church in Florence, Italy. The fossil agate coral emulates the plume on the carved arrow. Fossil agate coral is also Florida's state stone and is known for its unique formation that can take place over 20 million years. It's a natural gemstone that is created when coral is gradually replaced with agate.
