Each piece is part of a collection of the stations of the cross from a historical church in Tuscany. The Stations of the Cross are a 14-step devotion that commemorates Jesus Christ's last day on Earth as a man during the crucifixion. The numbered with roman numerals, these 11 stations, focus on specific events of the crucifixion.

Together, the ecclesiastical pieces are mounted and adorned with precious minerals and shells to create a collection of historic and organic significance.
