18th century Italian hand-carved angel with gold baroque pearls on a rock coral base.
The hand-carved angel was once part of a heavenly, angelic depiction in a historic church in Tuscany. The gold baroque pearls have been applied to the coral base and angel and effortlessly match the piece. The angel is also holding two cross-shaped baroque pearls.
The Italian angel has been joined with the natural elements to create a sculptural work of old and new - creating a piece that appears to have evolved together over time. Interpreting the past to create a piece entirely original, evolving in its own right. Through the preservation of the ecclesiastical artifact, it carries historical prominence and sacred significance while being transformed into a contemporary work of art.
